If wool conjures you images of scratchy garments and thorny carpets, you haven't encountered 100% pure New Wool. The ultra-soft material consists of some of the finest fibers available, and when fashioned into a blanket, it feels very soft and cozy.

Wool throws are therefore an excellent alternative for people that find traditional wool blankets uncomfortable or have sensitive skin. If you're looking for a comfy blanket, this fascinating Lambswool Throw will not disappoint.

The blanket is made of 100% Pure New Wool, so it will feel silky while remaining warm enough to cuddle with. It comes in a brown and cream color combination that exudes solidity and strength.

Cream, in particular, is warm, welcoming, practical, and trustworthy, providing all you'd need to feel protected beneath a soft garment. To top it all off, the delicate woolen fibers of the blanket are woven into a multicolored stripe pattern that spans across the cloth.

If you have acne or clogged skin follicles that contribute to oil, germs, and dead skin buildup in your pores, you should consider replacing your old blanket with this new woolen option. Its antimicrobial properties protect your skin from germ-causing acne and other ailments caused by synthetic fibers. Other notable features of the throw blanket include:

  • Undyed, natural wool throw that's eco-friendly
  • Made in Ireland hence depicts Irish heritage
  • 100% pure new wool that’s breathable to regulate your body temperature
  • Stain resistant fabric that’s durable and easy to clean

Care Guide

While our sweaters are a great choice, because they are warm and durable, proper care should be always taken to protect your garment. We recommend all of our sweaters and wool garments are gently hand washed with a mild wool detergent, reshaped by hand and dried flat. If soaked for too long, the wool may shrink and become hard.

Alternatively, most of our sweaters can also be dry cleaned but always check the care label first. Under no circumstances should you machine wash or tumble dry your sweater or any other wool product. Remember, when you give your sweater great care, it will last you for a long time.

A Little Bit About Us

The Sweater Shop is a family-run business that was established in 1986 by Dom Byrne and his sister Breege. Now in its second generation, the company is run by Dom’s son Paul and daughter Laura, alongside their sister-in-laws Kate and Eileen Louise, and cousin Alva, who manages the Galway locations.

The Sweater Shop remains a true family affair, built on a strong sense of heritage and deep-rooted family values. When asked by a journalist from The Irish Times in 1986 what made his shop so special, Dom proudly said: "quality, value and selection" – and that still holds true today. The large selection of superb quality Irish Aran knitwear at reasonable prices quickly became a favourite among both locals and visitors. As a result, the business expanded to include outlets around the country including Dublin, Kilkenny, and Galway City. The flagship store on Nassau Street in Dublin, located directly across from Trinity College, continues to be a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the heart of the city.

From timeless classics to modern twists on traditional patterns, there’s something for everyone in our collection — come and discover your next favourite piece instore or online.
