This kids’ hand-knit merino sweater from The Sweater Shop is both 100% biodegradable and 100% warm. The garment is made of merino wool that’s an entirely renewable fabric because it’s cut from sheep and still grows back every season.
Unlike synthetic fibers, merino wool is an active fabric that can regulate your child’s core temperature as it does the sheep from which it's shorn. The material has thermos-regulating properties that help your child stay warm when it’s cold and cool in the heat.
Due to its extremely fine fibers, merino wool bends far more than most wool fibers creating a luxuriously soft feeling on your child’s skin. This is, especially essential for children with sensitive skin because the hypoallergenic nature of merino wool helps alleviate some conditions like rash that’s caused by synthetic fibers.
The sweater’s Aran stitching represents the elegant history of people from the Aran Islands in Ireland while the natural hue allows you to blend the sweater with any outfit. Additional features of the sweater include:

While our sweaters are a great choice, because they are warm and durable, proper care should be always taken to protect your garment. We recommend all of our sweaters and wool garments are gently hand washed with a mild wool detergent, reshaped by hand and dried flat. If soaked for too long, the wool may shrink and become hard.
Alternatively, most of our sweaters can also be dry cleaned but always check the care label first. Under no circumstances should you machine wash or tumble dry your sweater or any other wool product. Remember, when you give your sweater great care, it will last you for a long time.
